Blueprinted air-cooled Desmodue with lightened internals, magnesium covers, dry clutch and total-loss electrical system.

Stock trellis frame lightened and paired with a carbon swingarm, subframe, fuel cell and hand-finished bodywork.

Minimal race loom, compact lithium battery and data display. Starter removed for external roller or kick start.

A 330-pound motorcycle does not need the largest possible brake. It needs a system with low rotating mass, a rigid pressure path, stable temperature behavior and enough modulation to exploit the reduced load on the front tire.

01 4 × 32 mm pistons per front caliper

Four equal-diameter pistons distribute pad pressure across the GP4-RX body. The nickel-plated aluminum construction and reinforcing ribs prioritize stiffness and repeatable lever response.

02 108 mm radial mounting pitch

This dimension drives the fork-bottom and carrier decision. It is not a bolt-on assumption for a stock SportClassic fork. Final alignment must be engineered around the Öhlins conversion.

03 5.5 mm target rotor thickness

Brembo specifies GP4-RX compatibility with original, SuperSport and T-Drive discs at 5.5 mm. Diameter and offset remain wheel and fork dependent.

04 50–400 °C Z04 operating range

The Z04 sintered compound is the track option: high friction, controlled wear and consistent response at sustained disc temperature. It is deliberately not optimized around cold street operation.

  1. 01 / Input

    19RCS Corsa Corta RR

    Use the 19 mm radial master with the 18 mm setting for more lever travel and modulation, or 20 mm for a firmer, faster pressure rise. Normal, Sport and Race alter initial free stroke, not peak mechanical capacity.

  2. 02 / Transfer

    Direct dual-line routing

    Two equal-length braided PTFE lines run from the master cylinder to each caliper. The layout removes the crossover line, reduces routing ambiguity and keeps bleeding and inspection independent at each leg.

  3. 03 / Clamp

    GP4-RX radial calipers

    Four 32 mm pistons per side produce 3,217 mm² of total piston area per caliper. Across the twin front circuit, the hydraulic area ratio is approximately 22.7:1 against a 19 mm master before lever leverage.

  4. 04 / Friction

    Z04 race pads

    High-friction sintered material delivers the heat stability this build needs on track. Pad choice remains a tuning component: Z04 for sustained temperature, a road-track compound if cold bite and wet use matter.

  5. 05 / Torque

    T-Drive floating rotors

    Eight T-shaped connections allow radial and axial float between stainless friction ring and aluminum carrier. That architecture improves torque transfer while managing thermal expansion and limiting rotating mass.

  6. 06 / Balance

    P2.34 rear circuit

    The rear is specified for stability and chassis attitude, not headline power. A two-piston 34 mm caliper on a custom carrier preserves controllability under downshifts and corner entry.

The critical constraint

Fitment is geometry.

Before ordering hardware, measure rotor outside diameter, thickness, carrier offset, wheel hub face, fork-leg spacing, caliper radial pitch, pad sweep and spoke clearance as one stack. The BST wheel, Öhlins fork bottom and GP4-RX caliper must be resolved together. A visually correct component list is not yet an engineered brake system.
