    Where the Insanity Wolf meme came from

    Insanity Wolf arrived in 2010, at the height of the advice-animal wave on Reddit and 4chan. The image is a snarling grey wolf head on a dark radial background, and it was built as a direct inversion of Courage Wolf. Courage Wolf told you to get up and try again. Insanity Wolf took the exact same setup and answered it with something no reasonable person would do.

    The format is fixed and unforgiving: white Impact capitals, black outline, one line across the top and one across the bottom. Nothing else. The humour is structural rather than written — you supply an ordinary situation, and the punchline is the sheer distance travelled from it.

    How to make one that actually lands

    Write the top line flat. The flatter the better; anything witty up top competes with the punchline and kills it. Then make the bottom line a response, not a topic change, and push it exactly one step further than feels comfortable. The best ones are still recognisably solving the original problem.

    Why a knife collection owns this domain

    Because the name was too good to leave sitting there. This is a private collection of Chris Reeve, Hawk, Timber and Benchmade knives, catalogued with the seriousness of an auction house and named after a fifteen-year-old meme about doing far too much. Both halves are entirely sincere.
