Investigative journalism on Utah's Wasatch Back. One issue a month. Twelve a year.

Insanity Wolf is a small, independent investigative publication based in Park City, Utah. Each issue is a single, deeply sourced story on something happening in the Wasatch Back that most residents do not yet know about. We work from public records, agency datasets, primary documents, and direct observation. Every claim is hyperlinked to the source.

We publish only what we can prove. When the record is incomplete, we say so. When a question remains open, we list it. Investigations are living documents; we update them as records requests return and as agencies respond.

Mission

To document, accurately and in public, the things that are decided about Park City–region residents without their meaningful knowledge or consent. To do so on a calendar slow enough for the reporting to be right, and clear enough for the reader to verify it.

Source first. Document trail next. Vendor and agency comment last. We do not publish anonymous claims that cannot be corroborated by record. We do not publish vendor talking points as facts. We disclose our data pulls and our endpoints; the methodology section of every issue lists every dataset and every URL.

Independence

Insanity Wolf accepts no advertising. We accept no sponsorships from companies or agencies covered in our reporting. We accept reader subscriptions. The work is funded by the people it is written for.
